One Summer Last Fall (Jets To Brazil)

kid i held you with these arms that felt so hard
you kept your chin up and i held my guard
made a prison bed from a life i never led
let me correct these mistakes you delight in

God i hope i get it right ive been practicing tonight
kid i hope it holds soime fraction of its feeling
if you keep believing then ill keep on being
a ghost in his prison bed short sheeted and shook dead
looking at love he still hasnt made yet

that i couldnt make to you baby, i can barely move

kid you were wrong that wasnt me in that song
you write the lie youd like to be
when your life feels like a book you wouldnt read

kid ive lived through others i made myself so mall
i lived through a record one summer last fall
the singer said something i could only feel
i saw him this morning he still looked real real

God i need him here tonight
i just know hed get this right

kid im a mess
if it looked good youre seeing things i guess
i changed my mind so many times im a strobe light

flickering freak. the baby of the week

im starting to see someone i could never be

kid what went wrong? we had it all now its all gone
i blew my mind out now its your turn to find out

what we all need
what we all mean

im starting to see someone i dont want to be

Sleep Walker (Dark Lotus)

Welcome everyone
Nate it's good to see you back
People we have a new member today
I'd like you to meet him
He's gonna stand up and tell us
What's going on with him and
What he wants to change about himself
If you will...

Ummm.. hello everybody
My name is Violent J
And I'm an axe murderer
(Hi Violent J)

Ok now remember we all have similar problems
And that's why we're all here
To help each other work them out

Well I just hope you guys don't think I'm crazy, but uh
(Tell us, tell us, tell us, tell us)

(Violent J)
Ok, I will tell you if you don't tell no one else
Think I have a problem and I probably could use help
You know the midnight killer that's been all over TV
I'm not totally sure but I think it could be me
Something happens to me when I'm sleeping in the night
Wake up in my backyard with a shovel and a knife
Filling up a hole again I've dug up 32
I know all my dreams of murder probably all are true

(Chorus 2x)
I choke them (choke them)
Kill them (kill them)
Stab them (stab them)
Right
Choke them (choke them)
Kill them (kill them)
And sleep right through the night

I walk around my neighborhood in my slippers and my sweats
Snoring loud and mumbling steady squeezing necks
Never have to worry about traffic or the cops
All I have to do is stay away from donut shops
I remember napping time in kindegarten class
Wasn't quite a killer yet, I'd only beat some ass
Never very po**r most kids would point and stare
That's why I bring the Nyquill
and drink that shit right there

(Chorus 2x)
I choke them (choke them)
Kill them (kill them)
Stab them (stab them)
Right
Choke them (choke them)
Kill them (kill them)
And sleep right through the night

I think, well I hope it's like
All bigots and richies that I'm killing but
Probably an occasional innocent bystander
every now and then
That's ok we all make mistakes
But are you absoutely sure that
It's even you doing these killings?

The more I think about it all I see that it could be
Everytime I meet a girl and bring her home with me
Wake up in the morning there's no sign of my sweetheart
Yet I see another hole is dug up in my yard
Denny's all night murders, and the Kinko's killing spree
Missing Sunday paperboys I can't believe it's me
I'm the only one from summer camp that made it home
Could this really be what's goin on?
Let me sleep on it

(Chorus 4x)
I choke them (choke them)
Kill them (kill them)
Stab them (stab them)
Right
Choke them (choke them)
Kill them (kill them)
And sleep right through the night

Ride around on possum back and eat with the racoons
Chirping with the crickets ** underneath the moon
Every morning I wake up and check if I've been gone
Muddy boots, and Steak 'n Shake food wrappers on my lawn
I cannot imagine just to think what I have done
Sat there eating chili fries and slaughtered everyone
Tried to see a hypnotist to get inside my head
But woke up and found that bitch dead because

(Chorus 5x)
I choke them (choke them)
Kill them (kill them)
Stab them (stab them)
Right
Choke them (choke them)
Kill them (kill them)
And sleep right through the night

I choke them (choke them)

Lunch Hour Pops (Broadcast)

I wait on the stairs for a break in my mind
Let the balloons go outside
Let the balloons go outside
I wait on the stairs for my thoughts to align
You are the sun in my mind
You are the sun in my mind

Clouds rock like a ship at sea
Sooth the waves of injury
Clouds rock like a ship at sea
Sooth the waves of injury

I wait on the stairs, there's a view in my mind
Objects of love in the sky
Objects of love in the sky
I wait on the stairs for my thoughts to be kind
What better view will I find
What better view will I find

Inflated with transparency
Float away my injury
Inflated with transparency
Float away my injury

Let the balloons go outside
Let the balloons go outside

I wait on the stairs for a break in my mind
Let the balloons go outside
Let the balloons go outside

Le the balloons go outside...

Three Day Summer Romance (Compliments Of Gus)

December nine I stood in line
Discount Michelle threw me a smile
But the girl in aisle three caught my eye
She weighed my snags, she scanned my coke
She even laughed at my lame jokes
I asked her home to meet the folks
December twelfth she claimed bad health
Had to wash her hair, couldn't handle wealth
Moved interstate, left it too late
Didn¹t speak of love, thought I¹d better wait

Just a three day summer romance
Just a three day summer romance
Just a three day summer romance
Are you feeling fine?
Did you enjoy three days of my life?

January five, broke out in hives
Went to a shop with a natural vibe
Won a free pedicure as a prize
She trimmed my nails, moisturised my toes
Used half a bottle of Aloe
Then we went out to see a show
January eight she was working late
Cancelled our date, treated my best mate
Exfoliated, love unstated
Maybe I shouldn't have waited

February twenty five met a girl she looked real fine
Took her to the keg to dine,
I drank coke and she drank wine

On the twenty eighth we stayed up late
We argued life, sport, William Gates
Separated, truth unstated
Maybe I shouldn¹t have waited

Just a three day summer romance
Holding hands and sideways glances
Just three days of missing chances
Are you on the line?
Could we talk for just one more time?
Just a three day summer romance
Just a three day summer romance
Just a three day summer romance
Are you feeling fine?

Autumn Leaves (Nana Mouskouri)

The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold

Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall

Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall.

Miserere (The Cat Empire)

Do you ever look around
turn your ear to the ground
show your face to the sky
on a night when the skies echoe sounds
from inside of your mind
on the stage that you shone
where the sun did become you
and move with your thoughts
through the sighs and the scenes
of the worlds you have seen
and the sights that have been
your reflection in shadows and dreams?
- your reflection in shadows and dreams

Did you ever see a man
who did walk down the street
white robe with no shoes on his feet
and on top of his head place a box with two slits
and the sign from his neck said
‘I do not exist’
or a woman who could not remember her name
did stutter and stutter
again and again
and saw you and called you her son
her eyes said
‘my being is gone
but still I’m not dead’?

Miserere

Have you ever seen a sound
have you listened to an image
have you ever touched a thought
have you ever tasted nothing
have you ever told a lie
that was true more than truth
because truth it had lied
all its life when it spoke to you?
And what did it say
it is that it is this
this goes here here is there
it is not yes it is
it was dulling your senses
your eyes they were bound
have you ever my friends
been looking around?

And the other replies
with a wave of a hand
I am already here
in this promised land
but not by a god and not by a king
and not by a spirit
deep from within
I am here
because a miracle’s a whim
it’s a flash of glory
it’s an empty tin
and maybe might lets you in
not to save you
but to keep on looking-

Miserere…

Have you ever
been so happy that you’re sad?
that the lights turn to stars
and the stars become eyes
and hello’s are goodbye’s
and the laughs are the sigh’s
and the show disappears with the note
‘until next time’

Long live living
if living can be this

Long live living
if living can be this

Long live living
if living can be this

Long live living
if living can be this

Do you ever look around
turn your ear to the ground
show your face to the sky
on a night when the skies echoe sounds
from inside of your mind
on the stage that you shone
where the sun did become you
and move with your thoughts
through the sighs and the scenes
of the worlds you have seen
and the sights that have been
your reflection in shadows and dreams
Do you ever look around
and find what is yet to be found?

Pink Bullets (The Shins)

I was just bony hands as cold as a winder pole
you held a warm stone out new flowing blood to hold
oh what a contrast you were
to the brutes in the halls
my timid young fingers held a decent animal

Over the ramprts you tossed
the scent of your skin and some foreign flowers
tired to a brick, as sweet as a song
the years have been short but the days were long

Cool of a temperate breeze from dark skies to wet grass
we fell in a field it seems now a thousand summers passed
when our kite lines first crossed
we tied them into knots
and to finally fly apart we had to cut them off

Since then it's been a book you read in reverse
so you understand less as the pages turn
or a movie so crass and awkwardly cast
that even I could be the star

I don't look back much as a rule
and all this way before murder was cool
but your memory is here and I'd like it to
stay warm light on a winter's day

Over the ramparts you tossed
the scent of your skin and some foreign flowers
tired to a brick, sweet as a song
the years have been short but the days go slowly by
two loose kites falling from the sky
drawn to the ground and an end to flight

Where Do You Run (D-Side)

Standing at the station
Waiting for the train
I still can't believe today
You're leaving me again
Onen man does the crossword
And tries to pass the time
I would do the same thing
If I had my mind.

(Chorus)
Where do you run
When you run away from me
Where is the sun now summer's gone
Where do you run
Where do you go to be alone
Where do you run
Baby please come home

Don't you know it hurts me
When you leave this way
All that's left are empty words
I wish I didn't say
You're a moving target
That I couldn't hit
You're the face that makes me cry
Girl I've missed it

(Chorus)
Where do you run
When you run away from me
Where is the sun now summer's gone
Where do you run
Where do you go to be alone
Where do you run
Baby please come home

Standing at the station
Waiting for the train
And I know by tonight
That I'll be alright
I know one thing for sure
I need you more

Where do you run
When you run away from me
Where is the sun now summer's gone
Where do you run
Where do you go to be alone
where do you run
Baby please come home

Mutiny (Motograter)

Mixed agendas
You've got the right to remain defenseless!
Trained not to think
Patriotic?
Gun, and a badge and you've got a fascist!
Slaves, to the kings
Wave your flag
Now, everyone swears that they stand for something
I'll never see
All you're lying
You think by simply hiding it changes?
I've reached my brink
No, is the word you understand?
No is the word you fear!
No, is the word you'll comprehend?
So No is the word you'll hear
I've never really needed!!
I've never really cared!!
I've never really trusted!!
No one was really there!!
Everyone, can see?
Everyone, but me?
Shadow boxing
You bite the hands, that buy you your finance!
Numbers and ink
Politicians
Backing the top percent of the nation?
You're not in sync!
No, is the word you understand?
No is the word you fear!
No, is the word you'll comprehend?
So No is the word you'll hear
I've never really needed!!
I've never really cared!!
I've never really trusted!!
No one was really there!!
Why!
Everyone, can see?
Everyone, but me?
Propaganda
The truth has emerged, the lies are retracting!
Your time is done
Compensation
Don't wanna change!
But we're gonna change it!
Under the gun!!!

The Music In The Woods (Joe Grant)

The workshop has been quiet now for nigh-on eighty years
It's been that long since loving hands brought music forth from wood in here
Golden-red and caked with rosin dust stands his life's work on the shelf
Old Sam who always heard, "You should be building something else!"

A carriage-maker was his trade and he could do it fairly well
But whether it was timely done happened as his moods they rose and fell
He'd stop with half the wheeling done and to his finer tools he'd turn
To cut and shape and coax the wood to sing the song he heard

Chorus
Put your hands to the wood
Touch the music put there by the summer sun and wind
The rhythms of the rain, locked within the rings
And let your fingers find The Music in the Wood

With the shop knee-deep in shavings and a carriage scarce begun
His wife would find old Sam at work on a fiddle that was nearly done
"Oh, Sam!", she cried, "Will I have to pay the mortgage by myself?
We don't need one more violin, you should be building something else!"

So he'd turn back to his trade once more
Until his kids came home
And asked him to go walking and to the forest they would go
"When you know each tree and flower," said Sam
"And the song of every bird, I'll build you each a fiddle
And we'll bring music from the wood"

Chorus

Old Sam was no provider; his few carriages are gone
But the fiddles made for naught but love
Preserve the wood and still sing its song
And while some men heard the call to gain a carriage-builder's wealth
Another voice told Sam, "You should be building something else!"

Chorus
